There was something about Karl!
Everybody liked Karl.
Karl was adorable. He had such a charisma, that he was everybody's favorite.
He was big and gentle, kind and subtle.
Kids liked to play with Karl because he was very delicate and had a sense of trustworthiness around him.
Karl's sisters liked to play with him as he allowed them to tease him, and chase him, and get him by the throat, and he enjoyed it and then it was his turn to chase all three girls at once!
Karl liked to join somebody at throw and catch play, usually it was Philippe or Letta. For him, it was more fun to have a competitive game than to catch a personal toy.
Karl loved car rides, walks in the parks, and all the fun family activities. While Philippe was out showing, Karl was very proud to play a leading role in the dog family. Then Philippe returned and moved Karl from his throne.
Karl was always concerned about his looks; he had to look good next to his famously handsome brother from whom he would not take any nonsense, and made a statement of it when he left a mark on Philippe's face. Every time after a grooming session I would show Karl in the mirror how handsome he is, otherwise he would be unsure and not so happy, and would have an argument with Philippe.
Karl loved children and dogs in general but not the little puppies: they had sharp teeth! He would shy away from the puppies and try to sit as high as he could, and the puppies would happily go after him, trying to play! They sensed that Karl would never take harsh measures to correct them.
Karl was loved by everyone, dogs and humans alike, but he had special feelings for Irka, and she was very affectionate to him, too.
For Vlad, the "Poodle" word associates with "Karl". That's a true love. There might be dogs that are of a better breed type, or closer to a breed standard, but there exists that very special one that makes you love a particular breed for the rest of your life; and in every dog you will look for that special trait that took you heart once and forever, and that's who Karl is for my husband.
